About

Full-stack software engineer based in Cirebon, Indonesia, building web products end to end in TypeScript and React.

I am Zul Faza Makarima, a full-stack software engineer based in Cirebon, Indonesia. For the past few years I have built web products end to end, from the database up to the interface, with a bias toward work that moves a real number: growth, smoother operations, or simply less friction for the people using it.

What I work with

My day-to-day sits in TypeScript and JavaScript, mostly React and Next.js on the frontend with Node.js, Express, or Laravel behind it. I am comfortable across the stack, from PostgreSQL and MongoDB through REST APIs and headless CMS setups like Prismic and WordPress, out to the Tailwind CSS layer people actually see. I tend to keep things in Nx monorepos with CI/CD pipelines so the repetitive parts stay boring and predictable.

What I care about

I care about the parts that rarely make a feature list: load performance, accessible markup, and interactions that stay predictable under real use. More recently I have been spending time at the edges of AI tooling, wiring up pipelines that turn messy input into something structured and useful. The recommendation service and meeting-notes experiments listed on this site both came out of that interest.

How I think about projects

I prefer focused tools over large platforms. A project earns its place when it removes one specific bit of friction, stays small enough to reason about, and produces something you can actually take with you. GitFlex reshapes a GitHub contribution graph into an exportable asset; the JWT debugger keeps the whole decode, edit, and verify loop in a single tab. The pattern repeats: do one thing, make it pleasant, and keep the surface area honest.
